Botanical Garden Na Slupi – The central one

Unlike the botanical garden in Troja, this one is situated near the city centre (one tram stop from Karlovo namesti). It belongs to the Faculty of natural sciences (Charles University).

The great thing is that the entrance to the outside exposition is free of charge. So you can go there regularly and observe how nature is changing according to the actual season. Now in spring it is full of various trees in bloom and birds singing.

You can find quite a number of benches there, some of them exposed to the sun, some hidden in the shade. So if you want to chill out, relax or simply read a magazine or a book in a quiet environment, you will be satisfied there.

Apart the outside exhibition, there is also the indoor one (you have to pay the entry fee), situated in the greenhouses. You can find there eg. a nice exposition of succulents or subtropical flora. There are also short-term themed exhibits on a regular basis – currently there is one called “fairy-tale landscapes of succulents”. If you want to check the events calendar, you will find it here
