PIvovarský klub Prague (by Joseph Baila)

Czech Republic is well known for the quality of its lagers – Pilsner means “from Pilsen”, as this type of beer came from the city of Plzeň, home to Pilsner of all pilsners – Pilsner Urquell. On the other hand, in a an usual pub you have two or three types on beer on tap, which might be a disappointment for many. But – not here.

This place offers the widest possible selection of beers in Prague. Not only they have 6 different beers on tap (changing them more or less on weekly basis) – but all of them are specials and rarities from various Czech microbreweries. Plus the list of bottled beers is just incredible and it covers six continents as well as tens of Czech cities, so it feels like traveling.

The club is strictly non-smoking. They also serve meals, specially Czech classic and various steaks, but they have some crazy beer-meals, like crepes with beer jam. Reservation is recommended. You can become a member of their club and start to educate yourself in the infinite world of beer!

Romantinka Prague (by Veronika Bila)

There are not many places to go around our house or in Kobylisy. Romantinka is one of the few and it actually is a really nice spot worth checking out. Imagine if you built a tearoom in your living room. Does it sound cozy to you? I can tell you it feels cozy too because that is exactly what Romantinka is.

You take your shoes off before you walk in and make yourself comfortable either in one of their wicker armchairs or on a cushion. It is nicely warm inside which adds to the homey atmosphere.

Except for a large menu of teas, which also includes a big pot of Masala tea for a very good price and delicious warm mead, Romantinka also has a wide variety of different things you can buy. They sell pottery, jewelry, books (unfortunately just in Czech), Cd’s and there is also a small bio shop where you can buy things like maple syrup or organic chocolate.

If you stay in Prague 8 and are looking for a calm place to go hang out with your friends, this tearoom would be a good choice.

Troja Prague (by Veronika Bila)

Since I live in Kobylisy, my apartment is pretty close to a beautiful area in Prague called Troja. When the weather is nice and I find someone brave enough to go rollerblading with me, I choose this place.

Some parks in Prague or areas designated for such activity like rollerblading are more of a circle that you travel round and round. Which can get a little boring after a few such repetitions. On the contrary, you can find a trail like there is in Troja that goes alongside the river and while you are enjoying your ride (trying not to fall in my case), you can also admire the beautiful countryside.

The way I get to Troja is really easy. I just take my favorite tram 14 (check the tram 14 article) down the hill to the tram stop Trojska. If you don’t have skates, walking will be just as pleasant. The trail is connected to the park Stromovka (check the Stromovka article) by a bridge. So why not to combine a sport activity with a nice picnic there?
