It might look like an ordinary, cozy coffee place from the street, as there are just a few tables inside, but when you go further through the cafe you’ll discover a wonderful quiet garden. If you can withstand the cold you can sit out even in winter, if not, they’ve added new armchairs inside recently, so that on colder days you can enjoy your drink even more comfortably. Maybe read one of the books from their stylish bookshelf in the shape of the letter Č.
The menu includes tasty coffee from a small family roastery, many home made lemonades, toasts and cakes. Especially on cold winter days I appreciate their turbomošt, which is a mix of hot juice with shot of distillate. You can choose different combinations according to your tastes. My favourite is pear juice with pear spirit or apple juice with plum spirit.
Čekárna has also its own flea market called Bazárna, which takes place twice every three months in their wonderful garden, for more info about the terms check their facebook.
Kavárna Čekárna is located right under the fort Vyšehrad and not far from the riverside (Náplavka). So if you happen to visit Vyšehrad, take the exit to Vratislavova street and don’t miss the chance to rest up in this café.
Pssst, I heard some gossips that they’re gonna open a bistro soon.
