Dejvice is a very unique part of Prague. One could even say that it is a “city inside a city”, you can find everything one could ever ask for there. There are shops, restaurants, bars, parks, woods… When I moved there a couple years ago, I started discovering the secrets of this city quarter. The locals introduced me to a lot of nice pubs and bars, and among them is Restaurace na Urale.
The name comes from the name of the street “Uralská”, as most of the streets and lanes in downtown Dejvice are named after war heroes, Russian places or people. It is a restaurant but lots of locals just go there for a beer. The service is usually very compliant, even so much that you will probably get a new beer before you’ve finished the previous one.
The menu offers a rich traditional Czech cuisine. I can recommend ordering some of the “bramboráks” (sort of potato-pancake) for instance. Also, you should try their pear brandy as they even put bits of pear in it.
Just next door there is a great Indian restaurant which offers cheap lunch menus. If you feel like a change – go for it!
