When I’m on the road, I am always searching for those little shops with tons of wonderful books and magazines, and that’s why I want to recommend a shop just like that in Prague. It is a “young” bookstore and publishing house specializing in the sale and production of art publications, authorial prints and art periodicals. Above all, you can buy a variety of interesting pieces by young Czech authors, but also super popular magazines like Kinfolk, now also Frame or Monocle etc.
Some of the publications are also in English, so don’t worry that everything might be in Czech! The whole store is full of atmosphere and the interior is minimalist and brand new. Page five is located in one of the cool neighborhoods near park Letná, which is a favorite location among young local people. Across the street from this book store, there is a great homey bistro called – Bistro 8, so you can combine shopping with some guilty pleasure cakes.
I’m always in ecstasy over posters and various screen printings that they also sell here, and I would recommend you buy them both to decorate your own apartment, and as a gift. Most of the posters and other art pieces are works by our young artists from the leading art schools. The young and accommodating owners are always happy to help you out and often there is a beautiful white “wolf like” dog who loves to cuddle and be petted.
