Innovation comes with youth and youngsters will tell you fun ends with adulthood but luckily university students do not care about any of this. They live in a different world, which you can either enter by spending long hours studying, or simply by coming to their club. You will not feel like an intruder, no worries. They like to share, if it’s music, art projections, ideas or a table.

Any tourist can pass by Klub K4 every day, and will not catch sign of it. Klub’s entrance is in the hallway of building no. 20 in Celetná street – street heavily winking at foreigners walking through Prague past souvenir shops and strange offers. Get local experience and sneak in the wooden door while leaving the crowd behind. Choose an event on the site or simply drop by for a delicious drink and be surprised by the latest art exhibition or concert.

As Jakub, caretaker of the gallery, whilst drinking large beer, said: “It is so ‘entspannt’ here”. And I could not say it better!

My favourite club to go out with friends. It happens quite often that some of my friends has a birthday party there or I visit some of the concerts as a photographer.

It’s not only the dance club which is on the minus first floor, there is a lively bar on the ground floor and a “Live underground” concert room or the minus second floor.

I like the design of the place, each floor has its own specific features. For photos, feel free to look here. Sometimes the bar gets quite crowded and it’s not easy to find a place to sit. A lot of foreigners come there but I think they mostly aren’t tourists, probably students or people who moved to Prague.

La Fabrika has shone like the Bethlehem star in the field of art for a couple of years now. A free space for art that is contemporary but comprehensible for a broader public.

La Fabrika does not have a static group of artists, so it is truly a „free space”, as it calls itself. I love to go there see some dance or to modern classical music. There are also all kinds of visual art and other multimedia events. The scope of La Fabrika is really broad and always interesting.

For those who like modern cirkus and performance, one of the most inrteresting projects will be Up End Down or La Putyka.

Once upon a time, Roxy was one of the very few options in Prague for a decent evening, when I felt like some dancing. But these times are over and Roxy still lives its standards.

Opened in 1992 under the name of Roxy, and reopened in 2002, and just recently in 2010 and 2011 due to reconstruction and some bureaucratic mismatches afterwards, this place become alive again.

In 20′s and 30′s it was a shining pearl at the Old Town, full of people in its restaurant, cinema and a ballroom. After being damaged by the enormous floods (2002), the Experimental Area Roxy/NoD now offers a full variety of concerts, dance music, gallery presentations, internet café with wi-fi connection, theatre, films, performances and workshops. For some of their best gigs have a look yourself.

If you are into clubbing and are in Prague for couple days, Roxy is definitely the place to go – next to Radost FX (see the Radost FX article). Have a look at the programme to see if anything interests you. They have regular Free Mondays and Midweek Lounge, where entry is free.

Another of Dejvice’s great pubs can be found just a few minutes’ walk from the central “Victory Square” and even closer to Na Urale pub (check out this article). If you get kicked out of there (since they close quite early) and still feel like a beer, El Wood is – apart from the more entertaining but also more distant Klubovna - a natural choice.

The place consists of a restaurant/bar on the ground floor and a pub in the basement (fusball and seats in what used to be a carriage included). Do not expect something fancy but it is still way more pleasant than all those non-stop joints around. Oh, and please do not mind the smell of weed which is hardly avoidable.

Apart from late night drinks, El Wood is also recommendable for the very cheap and yet tasty food which is served on the top floor under the name Mr. Steak point. So if you are ever in the area and hungry, make sure you order one of their daily menus (served until 17:00) – a soup and a main dish which cost only 70 crowns.
