Zderaz is an old settlement, which was replaced by new houses in the beginning of the 19th century and nowadays it’s slowly become a vibrant area.
The most interesting part of the whole area is the artsy square in front of Mosaic house hostel. The square is quite small and a little bit hidden off the main tracks but definitely worth visiting when you are nearby.
The heart of this tiny square is a small island with synthetic turf on it surrounded with tall mushroom sculptures. You can find the same mushrooms on the top of Mosaic house if you climb up through the hostel, there is a wonderful view from the rooftop.
Another cool feature of this spot for me is that it offers Wi-Fi outside. That’s a perfect option when I need to connect to the internet, but don’t really feel like sitting inside and having coffee.
As I said, the area is vibrant and you can find some cool bars and clubs to hang out at. Like La Loca located in the Mosaic house, which is more for those who want to dance the whole night. I prefer the calmer bar directly opposite Mosaic house called Milá Tchýně. When I don’t feel like drinking beer for once I definitely go there for some cocktails. They offer really cheap cocktails and they’re still incredibly good.
Just come and say hi to the Man hanging out sculpture, which is another piece of art in this small but charming area.
