Spīķeri is a historical quarter where around 150 years ago old brick houses were built as warehouses. Now renovated these lovely buildings host numerous cultural events and attractions.
Activities that happens here includes concerts, exhibitions, theater, cinema, dances, workshops, lectures, events for kids. A wide choice I like to say. Spīķeri also can be used as place to have a proper meal or just to rent some premises for your own party.
As you will find out some of the spots here are quite fancy, some are real underground. At the moment some construction and renovation works are going on to make this quarter more enjoyable for the summer season. Still all the premises there are working and waiting for visitors to come.
I’m glad that I didn’t forget about the waterfront of Daugava near Spīķeri as it will reward you with a great view including the TV tower and a few of Riga’s bridges. Both sunset and sunrise can be seen from this unusual place.
Spīķeri is a spot for people with an interest in modern arts and cultural performances or just for one who seeks for place to be inspired.

Nice quarter of culture indeed – Kim? Gallery is small, but nice! Also on the terrain: the holocaust museum (which I must admit – we did not visit).
