Splendid Palace – Cinema with big C

Splendid Palace is not a common cinema. It is located in a historical building, decorated in the shapes of rococo. A truly beautiful piece of art, this is the first cinema in the Baltics that screened sound movies.

Splendid Palace is a member of “Europa Cinemas” and CICAE. This grants us the superb possibility to enjoy some meaningful quality films from famous film festival award winning directors like Lars von Trier, Kim Ki Duk, Joel and Ethan Coen etc. or from local producers.

Another great thing is that this cinema takes the risk to play documentary films. Even some theater and concert shows are programmed.

All this and also the amazing concept of not selling popcorn before shows makes the place truly enjoyable without even mentioning the polite and intelligent people that appreciate this special cinema.

If you decide to give it a try please definitely catch a movie in the large Hall. You will be blown away by how glamorous the auditorium is.

After the show, well… it’s nice to share some thoughts, some discussions about the movie. So why not have a glass of wine to sharpen that up? Try wine bar Tinto right outside the cinema and do not forget to have those delicious tapas they have.
