I too like Venchi but some people find it too expensive for the quantity you get. If you weren't crazy about Mizzica's pistacchio icecream, you'll have to try it in another Sicilian place (which I still have to write about) callled Bedda Matri (multiple locations but one close to metro San Paolo), perhaps this will come close to your Sicilian memories.
