If on a rainy day you feel lonely and sad and instead you’d want to feel the breeze of Jamaica, this is the right place to go. Near Basilica di San Paolo and Roma Tre University, El Chiringuito Libre is a spot with a young soul. Students go there after class to drink coffee or beer and there is always nice chill music playing, most of the time reggae. I love kiosks in general – I like the closeness to the bar counter and to the bartenders – but El Chiringuito is not that tiny: it also has tables covered by a gazebo overlooking the small and cute Park Ricciardi.
In summertime they have outdoor concerts every weekend and DJ sets until 02:00. Wednesday they sell Spritz for 2 euro. It’s not only popular because it has the lowest prices in the area, but also because the staff is fun and friendly. This is the meeting point of many people before the night begins (and even when it ends). Maybe it’s a spot that brings good luck for a special night; you’ll tell me!
