Emporio alla Pace Rome (by Mariaceleste de Martino)

A homy atmosphere. It’s not a crowded club, it’s not a busy cafè, it’s not a loud pub, it’s not a noisy bar. I would call it a “living room with kitchen and bookcases”. A sofa, three armchairs and a couple of chairs round three tables, lamps and books on sale make this small, comfy place.

Cozy for a good drink and a calm, warm chat. You can also sit at the counter on a stool for a more casual booze. Breakfast in the morning, snacks at lunchtime, munchies in the evening. The staff is extremely nice and friendly.

I came here with my Facebook friend Federico from Italy’s northwestern Genoa, a beautiful sea front city. We had a glass of Pinot grigio while we enjoyed talking about books, literature, and life in general. I noticed that, compared to other places, the wine glasses are bigger and very well filled up. Together with the drink they served us olives, nuts, chips, and small Italian crispy bagels.
