Forte Fanfulla, which was the original name of this place, was a huge venue (a former industrial building, then restored), where people could enjoy a bunch of activities: from theater performances to live music (and also a nice and friendly environment, open to co-working).
Later, due to the excessive expenses necessary for such a huge place, they have reduced the area of their location, changed the name into Fanfulla 5/a (after the street number where this intimate club is located) but kept the original vocation for live music on the little stage of their lively bar!
I have a real affection for Fanfulla; I’ve also had the chance to perform here, a couple of years ago (no music then for me: just a theater play!), and always thought it’s a great place for artists and people who love the undercover art scene of Rome.
The small bar still has that charming, underground vibe inviting people to familiarize with each other, while drinking a well-prepared cocktail and listening to some interesting music bands, or a DJ-Set.
The place is surrounded by some Graffiti artworks, recently created in this area, and not far from Necci Cafe, so I usually love to spend an early evening there, before moving to Fanfulla 5/a, to craft a complete, perfect night out in the Pigneto area!
Easy to reach by tram lines number 5, 14 (from Termini station) and 19 (from San Lorenzo / Porta Maggiore), and with the forthcoming Metro’s line C (Pigneto stop).
