With its careful attention to products coming from local suppliers, and not from big distribution companies; a socially-oriented mission and a declared will of eliminating architectural barriers… Lo Yeti has undoubtedly been one of the protagonists of the cultural Renaissance of the Pigneto neighborhood.
It first opened in 2003, in the location that first housed a typical restaurant which was closed about 20 years ago, by the Social Cooperative “Libera…mente” (Free…mind!). The founders intentionally chose a mysterious creature, the mythical Yeti, to give name to their Cafe, with the purpose of describing a place different from the usual commercial places: a meeting forum for open discussions, relaxation and meditation.
This becomes clear when you reach its lovely location, just in the middle of this popular area, on the corner between via Perugia and via Pesaro, perfect for having a seat under the vineyard they planted along the sidewalk, while sipping a cup of coffee prepared with extreme care (the bartenders are constantly cleaning the coffee machine, to guarantee the best possible flavor of coffee is kept).
Lo Yeti is not just a bar, thanks to the bookshop they opened beside their tea-room, but a place where several events (and even foreign language courses) take place: have a look at the flyers and posters stuck on the entrance wall to see which best fits your interests!
Easy to reach from Termini station (tram lines number 5, 14, 19), and metro line C (Pigneto station, expected to be opened in July).
