This is one of the latest venues to open in the emerging Pigneto neighbourhood, but it arrived just in time! Located in the very middle of the neighbourhood, ‘na cosetta, which literally means “a little thing”, is named after what you would typically say in Italian declaring for instance you’re about to get “a drink”, while we all know it never stops at one “little thing”.
So the declaration “come on guys, let’s get ‘na cosetta”, could easily bring you here, especially if you’re on the lookout for some good live music with a laid-back, very hip, almost Berlin-like atmosphere.
There is something going on almost every night, from the local Roman jazz trio to the Balkan-style brass band straight out of Kreuzberg. The only constant is quality music, a brilliant vibe and high quality drinks, all packed into an awesome neighbourhood. Although the concerts hardly ever start on time, you may want to consider being there on time since the place isn’t that big and Pigneto’s hipsters are more than ready to take away your seats.
Also, ‘na cosetta opens up at noon already on weekends, so it’s ideal for a lazy Sunday afternoon or a fancy little brunch. And in case you get hungry while using their WiFi, no worries, it’s also a restaurant!… A restaurant with a rather high-grade cuisine I might add.
Simply grab the 5, 14 or 19 tram line and get off at “Prenestina – Giovenale” and get ‘na cosetta, but don’t just stop at one!
