I know this might sound sacrilegious for someone living in Italy but I don’t really love gelato. Sometimes, when the weather is warm and I’m taking a stroll with a friend, I’ll stop for a cone but usually I prefer savory foods, like a slice of pizza, to sweet treats. That being said, I can’t walk past Punto Gelato without going in to get a gelato fix – it’s that good.
The secret ingredient in Günther Rohregger’s artisanal gelato is the microfiltered milk which lends each flavor the perfect creaminess and density. And there are so many interesting combinations to choose from: white chocolate with raspberry, Indonesian cinnamon, dark chocolate with rosemary, buffalo milk with red pepper and ricotta with strawberry and balsamic vinegar, just to name a few. Punto Gelato boasts an enormous spread of sweet (and savory!) flavors to suit all palates and has 3 locations in the center so be sure to check it out and let me know if Günther’s gelato changed your life too!
