I can safely say we Italians have some of the best espresso in the world. I have been to gourmet espresso shops all over the world and I have had some of the world’s top blends, but it is never quite there. I am almost tempted not to include this spot, just because it might ruin every coffee you will have after this by comparison.
Ok, it might not be that good, but it is definitely one of the best of the world. If you have time and are interested, asked any of the skilled barista exactly how their coffee machine works, because it is really unique: only five exist in the world. The owners worked together with some of the best roasters in the city to make custom modifications and offer craft blends, and it was definitely worth it as you can definitely feel that this is not your usual espresso shot.
But Roscioli caffè also has the best “maritozzo” of Rome, sweet bread that you can have filled with whipped cream and it is just amazing. They also have great brioches and other pastries, all of excellent taste.
Roscioli is a big name in the foodie community in Rome, as the restaurant next door is also worth a visit with one of the best carbonara in the city (after the one made by me obviously). Both the caffè and the restaurant will make you taste what gourmet food in Rome is all about, without breaking your bank.
