I am incredibly passionate about supplì. I once stopped talking to one of my best friends for a month just because she said a place next to her house made supplìs better than a place I loved next to my school. It’s a make it or break it deal for me: if a pizzeria does not have good supplìs, that restaurant is dead to me. So it makes sense that Supplizio is kind of my second home.
The first thing you will notice once you enter this wonderful little shop in one of the most beautiful and characteristic streets of Rome is how comfortable and relaxing everything looks. The owner and his wife manage the table service and they are such wonderful people, nearly as wonderful as the food. Supplìs here are a form of art, with the carbonara supplì leading the pack. But they also serve some excellent and bigger dishes in case you are an evil human being and dislike such a precious and divine gift as those small fried balls of rice.
Quality is also assured in the beverage department, as they have some great craft beers from a Roman beer firm and excellent wine. If you want to feel cuddled and have one of the best street foods of Rome, this is the place.
