In 1922, Italian immigrant Angelo Betti started a small ice truck in Rotterdam. Some 60 years later the menu was extended with a variety of Italian delicacies. Now 80 years later the fourth generation of the Betti family is running the restaurant located at the intersection of the Schiekade and the Bergweg. A restaurant with excellent pizzas and Italian ice cream. A little piece of Italy in the north of Rotterdam.
To guarantee the quality of the spots I am telling you about I often use the opinion of my friends. This time I asked a friend to join me for dinner at Angelo Betti. The guy lived in Rome for a while and showed me not just the best pizza places in Rome. He showed me the oldest, the newest, the most tasteful and the one with the best looking waitresses of Rome. I have no reason not to follow his lead. After ordering (in Italian) a Peroni beer and a pizza Grandiosa dinner could get started. A delicious pizza with a thin crispy crust was served quickly. I already approved the quality of the pizza myself but now it was up to my ‘Italian’ friend. Lucky you, he also approved with a big smile. Reserving a table is not an option, just head over there and find out.
Forget about all the pizza chains, get yourself a real pizza at Angelo Betti.
P.S. recently a cheap somewhat happy-looking Italian opened around the corner from Angelo Betti. Don’t mix them up!
