I like clothes, I like shopping, but I don’t particularly like mass made megastores in crowded shopping streets. For those among you who feel the same, head to Dearhunter Vintage on the Eendrachtsweg. It’s not far from Witte de Withstraat, yet there is hardly another shop in sight.
The handpicked selection of vintage clothes, organised by colour, is outstanding. You can find something for every occasion; summer dresses, leather skirts, comfy jumpers, sunglasses and more, all interesting enough that you won’t find that the person sitting next to you in the train is wearing the exact same thing.
Many vintage shops sell lots of oversized clothing, but at Dearhunter they try to make sure that it’s an elegant fit with small sizes too, so you won’t drown in your dungarees. They also have a beautiful array of handmade tote bags in different colours and patterns that can go with any outfit.
Not only the clothes make a trip to Dearhunter worthwhile, the whole atmosphere of the shop alone is enough. It feels like shopping at an exclusive store, but then deduct two zeroes off the price tag. Dearhunter Vintage is well worth the trip off the beaten shopping track, you might surprise yourself with what you walk away with.
