I’m a H U G E music lover and a bit old-fashioned/-skool as I also like 2nd hand affordable music on, preferably, vinyl records. Before I knew it, I had collected quite a lot which came from browsing through flea markets and shops like Demonfuzz.
Within a small distance there are several record shops close to Demonfuzz Records like the Plaatboef (they also sell (2nd hand) DVDs and CDs), the Vinylspot or Velvet. Both Velvet and Plaatboef host small gigs during the annual and global Record Store Day.
The shop isn’t big but very well organised with a lot of music genres and the guys behind the counter just know a lot! You can listen to the records you have selected there and put it on one of the turntables before you decide to buy them. Or just browse and do some serious crate digging till you find something you may have been looking for for a while.
The 2nd hand records are checked for damages and/or scratches and cleaned before they’re put in the shop and I must say, the records I’ve bought were indeed in a decent state and undamaged.
Most records you find elsewhere can be quite expensive and in a bad condition, whether you find it at a flea market or at another store.
It’s a nice shop to hang around but I also need to kick the habit as I have way too many vinyl records already!
