I started decluttering. First my studio and now I’m slowly getting around the house. It’s difficult to let go of the good stuff that I wish to part from, but I might have found the solution!
‘Jouw Marktkraam’ (Your Stall) at Zaagmolenkade 117 – an indoor market with 146 stalls. A wonderful place if you like vintage and retro.
You just rent a booth by the week. They sell your old stuff, own designs or new things. You get your own price tags with a barcode and by using an app you can see your revenues. All profits go to you.
Great concept, as this means there will be new things each week. Expect lots of vinyl, glass and tableware from the ’40s, ’50s, ’60s on, clothes – even by designers, art, DIY and many odd things. It works and it’s exciting to wander around along the long rows of stalls. Some people really understand the basics for a good sell and make their stall attractive by using tags, themes and humour.
The entrance is spacious and gives room to sit, meet people and get information. I guess I have to keep you posted on when my good stuff is up for sale ;). Until then, enjoy the search for affordable cool things and if you make the trip up North – close to ‘Jouw Marktkraam’ you’ll find Brewery Noordt (taproom and shop) open now for a locally brewed beer, Bertmans for breakfast/lunch, Olga Korstanje for pure style.
