About me
Born and raised in The Hague I moved to Rotterdam in 1998 to study history and media and journalism at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam
I have always lived in the Kralingen-Crooswijk area of Rotterdam. The first 7 years in student housing and now, since 4 years I have my own flat. Because I spent a couple of years as a student I know lots of nice, budget friendly, places. But since the faculty of history and art attracts a bit more ‘alternative’ students I have also been introduced to places less student like.
When work is done I like to go for lunch and/or dinner with friends or go to the pub for a beer (or two). I also love to dance salsa or go to a small club. I’m not the kind of person you’ll find in a club that’s too trendy for it’s own good or a massive trance party. But a little shimmy on the dance floor to some very bad ’80 tunes, count me in!
Ever since I moved to Rotterdam I lost my heart to this city with it’s great mixture of old and new. And yes, even though heavily bombed during World War two, Rotterdam has got plenty of old parts. Yet, since the liberation of the country Rotterdam started with it’s developments and is still going on. Another thing I like about the harbour city (biggest in Europe!): there is always something new being built and always something going on. There are the winter and summer festivals and this year Rotterdam is devoted to ‘Young 2009’.
Rotterdam is always improving and that’s what gives the city that extra vibe.
