I cheer for Marqt, but also for Gimsel – Groene passage (winner of best eco-shop in the Netherlands and THE place to go for your eco-shopping in Rotterdam as they offer the widest range of products) the organic food market on Eendrachtsplein (only on Tuesdays) that is still a well kept secret for most people, products grown in our own city at Uit Je Eigen Stad, alternatives in the West part of town like BUITEN and EKOplaza.
Yep, Rotterdam’s got a lot of choices for your daily eco-shopping.
We have one Marqt branch downtown at Binnenrotte 77 in a spacious building, and one in posh area Hilligersberg at the Bergse Dorpstraat 103.
Marqt’s motto is REAL FOOD, respect for nature, animals and people. It is not cheap which requires you to be a tactical shopper. I go there for specific items and for tastings. I really like their vegetables and fruits and their great selection of Dutch cheeses. Not so sure about the vacuum wrapped meat, but it’s great that you can buy fresh fish here and BREAD. The shop is spacious with a nice ambiance and friendly helpful staff.
Payment is by card only.
