Housed under the first seven arches of the former Hofplein Station you will find the Mini Mall. Inside and outside, the Mini Mall offers shops of independent designers, a restaurant, innovative events and festivals and a coffee bar.
Until 1990 Station Hofplein was a very busy train station. Because of the new station at the Blaak (see the Blaak station article) they transformed it into a boarding platform only. In 2010 they started the renovation which took a long time but the result is amazing. With the typical arches and the ceiling inside I feel like I’m walking through a train station.
Besides shops there is also something special, namely Bird, which I like to call a music-dinner-cafe-festival-shop. They show a variety of mini concerts and even movies. Check out the website www.bird-rotterdam.nl for the agenda! Their Birdfest is famous in Rotterdam and be sure to visit them during the North Sea Jazz festival. You will have a good chance of meeting some great music artists like I did.
Mini Mall truly offers something for everyone.
