I had already heard a lot about this tiny traditional Thai restaurant in the midst of Rotterdam China town. In this neighbourhood you will find a lot of Chinese shops, restaurants and snack bars.
Soi 3 seems to translate as “on the corner number 3” in Thai, but my knowledge of the Thai language is nil. It is located on the corner of the Anna Pawlonastraat and the West-Kruiskade.
The restaurant is an offspring of the Deli Bird on the Deliplein in Katendrecht on the South bank of the river Maas.
Small tables and not too many tables, make it a cosy place to eat. The food is traditional food from all over Thailand. Since I’ve never been to Thailand I am not able to judge the authenticity but the taste of what I had was really fine. A symbol depicting a red pepper gives an indication as to whether a dish is spicy or not. I had the Phad See Ew (broad noodles in sweet sauce) with beef and loved it.
Certainly a place to come back to and taste some more of the dishes.
