Markthal is part of my habitat.
I love doing my shopping here, wander around and feel privileged as freelance organizer and tour-guide to collaborate with all traders and shop keepers in Markthal, as it makes my work fascinating.
In the plinth of Markthal you’ll find The World of Drinks. On the ground floor, they sell coffee (to-go), wine, distilled beverages and on the first floor they’ve created a world of beer. You can buy more than 520 different beers here, many of which are from Dutch and Rotterdam microbreweries. Just looking at the labels is so much fun. On weekends, you can choose any of the 520 beers and drink them inside, for a € 2.50 supplement per bottle, a good deal if you want to try different special beers.
The World of Drinks has a 64m2 Biergarten-style-terrace outside their shop – with picnic tables. It’s on the north-side of Markthal, where you can catch the sun from 17:00 until sunset. They’ll serve Warsteiner and some special beers on tap, coffee, wine and non-alcohol-drinks. As long as you order drinks, you are allowed to bring your own food here. You need good weather to enjoy this spot.
Sit, drink and share a table with friends or strangers while you get whatever you fancy eating from the Markthal. All we need is a phone list or app to order and get the food delivered from the market floor right onto our picnic table ;).
