If you haven’t yet been to Worm I suggest you drop whatever you are doing and jump on your bike (or the tram, car, roller-skates, whatever) and go. Worm is on the Witte de Withstraat, but you have to go down a side street to enter. Descend the stairs and let your eyes adjust to the darkness within and order a beer and a plate of the meal of the day if you’re hungry (delicious and only €5).
It doesn’t matter where you sit, because it’s all equally inviting, whether it’s on the old, comfortable sofa or one of the picnic tables scattered around. The other side of the building has a podium for bands and acts, rows of cinema seats for film screenings and another bar and I think it’s a great place to spend an evening.
Going to Worm is like going to a mini festival with its own microcosm; the people are enticing, the venue is alluring and whatever is happening on stage will very likely stay with you for a while.
