This great spot I discovered last summer, when I was walking down the Zhukovskogo street and suddenly saw people sitting on the window-ledge, chatting and laughing:
“Wow!”, I told myself. “Seems so un-typical for the locals”.
Here, in St. Pete we prefer to sit on the roofs and watch the sky or to hide on the base floor searching for the answers to the world’s eternal questions :).
I am kidding, let’s come back to the bar. Initially, the Dead Poets was created as a whiskey spot. However, the current range of drinks is so wide that everybody is able to find something they prefer. When it comes to food, I would recommend you pay attention to the paté sets, which are great and very tasty.
Dead Poets hosts regular cultural events: music concerts, poet battles and lectures. It is better to check the program, otherwise you may take part in a discussion about Nabokov, which is also nice but requires some Russian language skills.
My impression is that this bar is a nice place for tired, intelligent urban people and city guests who appreciate indie ambience; and for those who like sit on window-ledges, like me.
