The greatest wine bar in St Petersburg was opened on November 29, 2013 – on my birthday! It’s a place for those who love wine, but prefer to avoid a too professional and academic or glamorous and posh style of serving it.
Those who didn’t know that the place exists would’ve never found it accidentally. It’s located inside the second inner yard of the common building on Vosstaniya street. So after crossing Nekrasova street you have to turn inside the first arch, walk through the first yard, pass all the trash bins and go up to the second floor by stairs constructed in the second yard. Here you are – at the Do Immigration bar.
The interior is quite simple, but stylish, the ambiance is very cozy and friendly, and you really feel like you ‘did immigration’ and are now sipping your wine somewhere in Eastern London. You won’t find beer or cocktails here. Mostly everything here revolves around wine that was carefully selected by the owners – Ekaterina and Victor – who are very happy to help you with your choice. Nevertheless, don’t worry you won’t be stressed by learning too much about the specific steps of wine production or its price. All glasses cost RUB 150, bottles are RUB 900.
You can accompany your wine with different cheeses, prosciutto, panini with anchovies and olives or crostini with cheese, pesto and basil. Everything is totally fresh and cooked in your sight in a small glass kitchen in the middle of the bar.
