Lebedev’s cafe has a controversial reputation. Some people say this is a really hipster spot. I would slightly disagree with that opinion and say that Lebedev’s cafe is a good place to find some homey food and nice coffee at a reasonable price. That’s probably why there are plenty of teens having their first dates here. So sweet :).
Who is mr. Lebedev? Artemy Lebedev is a famous Russian designer, blogger, traveller and media person. Once he launched the stores with the branded production and several cafes in Moscow, then the first spot was opened in St.Pete. Some people admire him, some people hate him, but this reaction makes me believe that Lebedev is not an ordinary man. 🙂 So, the concept of the spot is very personalised.
The menu contains everything the hungry person wants. The food is simple, but tasty. This is the only spot in St.Pete (at least, that I am aware of) where you can find tea from Krasnodar. Yep, there is local Russian tea, which is pretty rare and deserves attention. So, if you try the cup of Krasnodar’ tea with a wafer roll filled with caramelised milk, you can feel like a birthday person in the USSR.
As I mentioned several times in my notes, I adore the seating areas on the window-ledges. Guess what? It is possible to do that here too! 🙂
