Guys, this spot is among the ‘musts’ you have to visit in our city. Soundouk (translated as trunk) is one of the oldest conceptual art and food places in St. Pete.
The design of the cafe is amazing. It feels like you are in an absolutely funky reality, because the decor is closer to a theatrical scenery. One of the most popular sub-places in Soundouk is (oh-la-la) the toilet :). I have never seen such a variety of door locks to make a person feel totally safe anywhere else. By the way, on the picture you can see the entrance to this famous toilet, so could you imagine what is hidden behind the green door? No, please, just visit! 🙂 The sailor sitting there is the part of design.
When you are photographically satisfied and all pictures are uploaded to your Instagram or Facebook, it is time to enjoy the food. The slogan of Soundouk is great ‘Food makes us better’. That’s true. The cuisine is mixed, but every recipe is approved by a local chef. I would recommend you try kotleta po-kievsky, a chicken cutlet that is still associated with luxury Soviet dinners. When it comes to drinks and you would like to have a local one, I would recommend a rose hip tea, served with honey.
Apart from food and decor, there is a vivid musical program during evenings, which are normally free of charge.
