Vincent restaurant is the best option to have dinner or just a glass of wine before going to Mariinsky theatre. It’s located just on the left side of Theatre square very close to the historical and the new stages of Mariinsky.
The restaurant was opened by a chef and a sommelier; both of them are very famous in St Petersburg and in Russia. I love such a combination of owners, because you will not find an exclusively designed interior, chic DJ-sets or special marketing offers in such a restaurant. Here everything is very classical and all about the food and wine – isn’t that wonderful!
The menu is not huge, but still has quite a variety of Mediterranean dishes, including tartars, carpaccio’s, pastas, risottos, soups and nice main courses. Poached beef tongue with red lentil puree, cod fillet with baked paprika, salad with roast beef, mozzarella and tomatoes and chef-special mille-fois – everything tastes wonderful!
The wine list is quite surprising with a price per quality balance. “We don’t serve wines we don’t drink,”- is written on the list. For sure, there are some very expensive bottles like Krug Champagne, Chateau Petrus and Sassicaia, but common bottles start from RUB 860, which is pretty cheap for any restaurant in St Petersburg. Some wines could be ordered by glasses (from RUB 170), moreover for couples there is a great offer of half-bottles to be shared before an evening in the theater.
