Whenever I am asked to a friend’s house for dinner, or a quick visit, or just to let someone know how much I care, I make sure I bring a box of Chantal Guillon macarons. These are not to be confused with the chewy, heavy coconut “macaroons” that grandma used to make…these are exquisite, delicate French almond macarons, filled with rich, sometimes exotic creams. My current favourites are the salted caramel and lavender blackcurrant, but the classic vanilla, exotic Persian rose and red velvet varieties are equally delicious.
They often have limited seasonal editions – currently limited edition apricot pistachio, matcha genmaicha and tiramisu flavours are available…which means you should stop by soon, and as often as possible to make sure you don’t miss anything. Two additional locations in SOMA and Palo Alto.
