As an avid runner, I take my running shoes very seriously. Fortunately, there is a shop in my neighbourhood that specializes in running shoes and accessories, has a helpful and very knowledgeable staff, and is a great resource for nearby races.
Fleet Feet sports is the place I go every six months or so when my shoes are wearing out – by now the staff recognises me and offers information on improvements to running shoes I typically use, new models that have been released, and provides an attentive and professional fitting process. I have brought several friends to be fitted, both experienced and novice runners, and the staff members assess all runners carefully – checking for wear patterns on old shoes, observing customers as they run the length of the store or outside on the sidewalk, and then making specific recommendations for shoes for the runner’s type.
The owners of Fleet Feet and staff are all runners, and are happy to talk about their favourite local running routes or upcoming races. The store also sponsors running groups from 5K evening fun runs to marathon training groups. If your current pair is getting tired, Fleet Feet will set you up with a great new pair…you will probably want to wear them out of the store. Don’t forget to donate the used ones!
