Jaime’s Jewelry is one of those small businesses in the Mission that I likely would not have gone to the first time if it weren’t for the recommendation by Mission Jewelry & Loan. When I stopped there to inquire about having a bracelet sized, the guy I talked to said “Jaime’s Jewelry does all our jewelry repairs and sizing, you can take your bracelet directly to them. They do really good, clean work”. So off I went.
The front entrance of Jaime’s Jewelry has a locked gate through which you enter once they’ve buzzed you in. The store is petite, unassuming and casual. Aricely Guevara and her mother Berta Campos greet me warmly when I come in. Aricely usually consults with her brother Jaime Guevara (jeweler extraordinaire) to make sure they can size/repair/create exactly what I need.
I’m currently having Jaime’s Jewelry create a pair of earrings from two aquamarine links they took out of a bracelet. I didn’t really know what I wanted and Aricely and Jaime came up with the design idea. Jaime’s Jewelry prices are really reasonable. They only charged me $35 for my bracelet resizing and the pair of earrings they’re creating will be about the same. I love finding spots like these: family-run, unpretentious, good value, high quality and friendly, nice people!
Sorry Mission Jewelry & Loan – I’m a customer for life at Jaime’s Jewelry now!
