It’s so easy to overeat or indulge when we go out to a restaurant but Lemonade provides a healthy and tasty alternative. Lemonade is a fast casual chain throughout California that offers seasonal, fresh, and inventive dishes. I frequent their West Portal location but they are also located in the Inner Sunset neighborhood and at the Yerba Buena center downtown if you are near those areas.
The restaurant first opened in Los Angeles and I always heard my friend, who was living there at the time, raving about it so I was excited to try it when it opened here in San Francisco. While the menu changes with the seasons, I love their grilled chicken breast with sides like roasted broccoli, mac n’ cheese, or a tuscan kale salad. The food is served cafeteria-style so you grab a tray when you walk in the door and pick and choose the dishes that you want to try as you walk along the counter with the food on display.
There are so many dishes to choose from that it’s always worth making repeat visits to Lemonade. Of course they serve delicious lemonade in a variety of flavors, from old-fashioned and peach ginger to watermelon rosemary and strawberry rhubarb. And the desserts do not disappoint! My friends and I have tried their chocolate chip cookies and pistacchio macarons which are the largest macarons I’ve ever seen.
Lemonade is quintessential California cuisine, healthy and flavorful, that’s already to go for you so come hungry!
