Local Mission Market is a great place to grab snacks for a picnic. All produce, dairy, and meat are purchased from farmers and ranchers within a days drive of San Francisco. The only items not local are the coffee, tea, and chocolate selection which all originate in other parts of the world. But we won’t hold that against them- who doesn’t love coffee, chocolate, and tea?
My absolutely favorite thing to get at Local’s Market is the popcorn. Popcorn shouldn’t taste this good but the chili-lime popcorn keeps me coming back time after time. They also have caramel popcorn if you are in the mood for something sweet.
If you are looking to grab a few items for your picnic, I suggest bread, cheese, and wine. Northern California is world-famous of our cheese-I think it has something to do with our happy cows. Locals Market offers two of my favorites: Redwood Hill and Cowgirl Creamery. They also have an excellent local wine selection and considering our local includes some of the best wine in the world, you can’t really go wrong.
The extremely local market is a bit on the pricey side, I once paid $ 8 for orange juice. But, it was fresh, local, and delicious, so I really shouldn’t complain.
