Stepping into this little Vietnamese restaurant may feel more like you are in Hanoi versus San Francisco, but trust me when I say My Cahn is a great spot! Sure the exterior and interior may leave you a little hesitant and second guessing your dining choice, but if you are in the mood for cheap, delicious and authentic Vietnamese food then you can be confident with this choice near the corner of Broadway and Grant.
My well-traveled foodie friend insists that I take her here whenever she visits me. For some weird reason, I’m reluctant to go, but inevitably I bend to her wishes. In the end, I’m usually quite pleased with our dining decision.
The flavors and prices at this casual dive couldn’t be better. My friend enjoys the five-spice chicken, and I opt for the pork egg rolls with noodles. Explore the menu and you are sure to find a Pho that will be sure to please your pallet.
What’s not to love? They are open every night until 02:00, service is decent, the prices cheap and the food is tasty. They only take cash, but at these prices that shouldn’t be an issue as most affordable SF restaurants do not take debit or credit cards these days.
I can tell you that I’ve never had a bad meal here, and I am always glad to get cajoled into going to My Cahn. Give them a try if you desire good Vietnamese at an affordable price.
