Mikser is new in the city but has already become many people’s favorite place, because it is different compared to everywhere else here and is very up-to-date. It is a multidisciplinary platform in a big bright multifunctional space. Actually, most times I come here I come for the space: it allows lots of people being there without it feeling crowded, which is really nice.
When you enter, you will first find yourself in a cafe with really cute furniture. Right next to it is “Balkan Design Shop”, which offers products from regional designers like clothes, jewelry, furniture and decorative accessories, perfect for original gifts, but even if you’re not planning to buy anything it’s very inspirational just to browse. Next to that is an event hall and upstairs is where the exhibitions are held.
Every week, new cultural activities take place here like exhibitions, lectures, promotions, concerts, panel discussions, workshops, festivals… so check the program on their website because I cant tell you what to expect. It is a surprise all the time!
It is not central but Sarajevo is relatively small so it’s really easy and quick to get to it. If you decide to visit, you can choose to walk by the river rather than getting there by transport. You will recognize it by the huge murals on the facade.
