Walking through the center of Sarajevo will take you to Liberation Square Park.
When I was little, this park was the place where I would play with my friends who lived nearby, with dogs people walked and mainly enjoy the grass and the flowers.
This park has the largest number of statues of famous writers in my country so it was educational as well. Years went by, so from just knowing how to read their names under the statues, I got to know their work, read their books… and that made my life richer.
The biggest statue was and still is The Multicultural Man. Holding on to the fence shaped like a globe, for me it represents a man holding strongly to his life on this world wearing nothing but his knowledge – the sole value of a man who has lived his life enriching it with the world’s cultural differences.
I never questioned the author’s inspiration or motivation, but this is my explanation :- )
