Home of the Skopje design week and host to many exhibitions and events, Public room made its mark on the Skopje map without any problem. The Centre for design and innovation “Public Room” slowly developed from an informal space for work and cooperation of young creatives to an exhibition venue, co-working space and one-stop shop for Macedonian designer products.
The industrial arranged space is on three floors and filled with Macedonian designers’ furniture and pieces of art. The place is often used as a working corner, because of its comfortable and relaxing atmosphere and it is quite popular among young freelancers, creatives and designers. The mixture of people and art makes it an inspiring get-together for individuals or teams developing their creative potential. What you can do as well, is be part of a workshop or bring your children for a creative course, enjoy some fresh and healthy dishes or spend an afternoon reading design and architecture books and magazines over a cup of tea.
The best part of all is that it made Macedonian designers’ products available for the public and increased their visibility on the market. And now they are starting a new project to support Macedonian jazz scene so each Friday, if you are up to it, go listen to some jazz for free.
