I stumbled upon Бюфетъ (Buffet) restaurant after my first visit to the Sofia History Museum and I definitely recommend the place for a quiet and cosy lunch. It is situated in the centre but it’s away from the city noise and traffic. Perfect place for a calm Sunday lunch and meeting with friends.
The first thing you notice when you walk into Buffet is the abundance of all kinds of decorations. Sculptures, lamps, musical instruments – there are plenty of them. I really like the retro furniture and tableware. Actually every meal is served on a different set of plates.
The place is pet friendly and usually there are a cat and a dog walking around in the restaurant. Buffet serves traditional meals and the prices are reasonable. During summer months seafood is served and I can recommend you try the mussels in wine and garlic.
I was very surprised to receive a student report card with the check. But more surprising was to see that it was actually full of customer’s grades! The grading scale in Bulgaria is based on the following grades of five numbers where 6 is the highest (A) and 2 is the lowest (F). So you can grade the meals you have tried.
