I was refusing to go to Fabrika Daga for a long time when it first opened. The advertisement and the attention it got from the beginning made me think that this would be one of those fancy places with big airs. Apparently, I was wrong; yes it is still quite a busy place but now I see that there is a reason for it to be like that, actually, there’s more than just one.
Fabrika Daga offers different kinds of coffee in addition to the normal lattes and cappuccinos which are not easy to find in other places in Sofia. And the coffee is good… very good, but I expected that. What surprised me the most was their food. I would dare to claim that they have some of the best sandwiches in town. Tasty bread, fresh ingredients, served in a creative way – it couldn’t be simpler than that! If sandwiches are not your thing, there are salads, soups, and other dishes, not to mention the sweet temptations.
Fabrika Daga is also a very popular spot for brunch, serving typical Bulgarian dishes like mekitsi. So wake up early and head over for a hearty meal before all the food has been eaten by hungry Bulgarians like me.
Last but not least I am very pleased with the staff there – young people who seem to love what they do, always welcoming and willing to prepare something upon your request even if it’s not listed on the menu.
