When I just moved to this part of town in Stockholm (in Nortull), I was desperately looking for new places to hang out and have nice food on a budget, since I did not have a full-time job yet. Norrtullsgatan is a street that is slowly getting into the culture and more and more places are popping up there. Here I found Austin Food Works.

Since I sometimes really like to have ‘just a nice’ burger, or a smokey, BBQ-flavoured dish, I can totally get the necessities right here.

Also, since I was just up for mocktails for a while- for specific reasons (virgin cocktails) – I could have the best one in town right here at Austin Food Works. One of the bartenders really improvised on my requirements of a margarita-style sour flavour with salty edge and ginger. Lots of kudos for him. And then there is the beer – lots of nice different ones.

There is the option to have lunch here too, and Saturday brunch. I have only been here during the evenings, though. The other day I just had to run in for their famous Mac ‘n Cheese, since I had a huge craving.

The vibe is excellent, the staff serves with passion – it’s easy to hang out at the bar area too if tables are fully booked. I hope they can cope with the popularity and don’t lose their flair in the long run!

They also have locations in Kungshölmen and Södermalm now since mid-2019!
