Café Saturnus – Giant fika to (not) share

One of my best friends brought me here for the first time last spring. It’s small, cozy, and the employees are a bit… odd sometimes. But just go with it! They’re great.

The pastries and lunches at Café Saturnus are huge so it’s a perfect café to bring someone you like to share a piece of cake in a relaxed environment. Just look at the image above – that cinnamon bun is split into four pieces and I only managed to eat one.

Saturnus is the kind of place where you can sit for hours and just drink coffee and talk. Of course it’s also perfect in case you’re really hungry, if you don’t like sharing your food and want to bring home some leftovers, or if you’re hungover. They actually serve great hangover brunches, French style! I’d strongly recommend their hot sandwiches or one of their salads (135-165 SEK).

Café Saturnus is located close to Humlegården, a beautiful park in Östermalm. During summer it’s perfect to take your sandwich and coffee to go and have a little picnic in the park. During winter though, it’s a great place to snuggle up with a gigantic cup of cocoa.
