If you’re an active researcher, you’ve probably discovered that Stockholm has a lot of “best views”. One of them is called Fåfängan – the absolute most astonishing one according to me.
Fåfängan is located southeast of the city, and you get here easily by a ten-minute straight walk from Slussen. It’s not hard to miss from a distance, there are trees and flags in a square surrounding the top.
Wooden stairs will take you upward, and soon you’ll witness the Stockholm skyline, the island Djurgården, rooftops, and cruising boats arriving and departing. There’s also a café at the top open all summer, offering lunch, dinner – and gluten free brunch every Saturday and Sunday!
You don’t have to visit the café though – just bring your own picnic or bottle of wine, come what time you prefer, and choose a favourite spot on the cliffs beneath.
Whilst up on Fåfängan you won’t be in a hurry to go down, that’s for sure.
