When I was a child I loved the story “Charlie and the chocolate factory” written by Roald Dahl. If that factory had a jazzy version anno 2015 in Stockholm, Pärlans Konfektyr (Pearl Confectionery) would definitely be it. Because after all, Pärlans Konfektyr makes the most delicious caramels.
The girls working here love their jazz music, and walking into Pärlans Konfektyr really takes you back to the 1930’s. The shop is filled with a genuine feeling both to the thanks interior and their small-scale production. If you’re curious about how they’re making the beautiful caramels, you can peek through a glass-window to see their production. And in between caramels with sea salt, vanilla, citrus, peppermint, chocolate and salty licorice they also serve coffee.
So my recipe is: Walk in, order a coffee, eat a caramel, enjoy the jazz music, relax and watch their caramel production.
If you want to take a bit of this feeling home with you, just buy their book! It’s beautiful!
