Two activities ranking high on my list of favorite things in life is 1) sitting in my living room with best friends and 2) having a wonderful plate of food placed in front of me. I love my living room just as much as the next person, but in all honesty, it very rarely contains both best friends as well as creative cooks whipping up a festive feast of flavoursome food, at the same time. This is why I tend to swing by Restaurant Ljunggren whenever I get the chance.

At Ljunggren you’ll find one of Stockholm’s liveliest and best cocktail bars, where during the weekend you can catch a live set from local and international DJs, while sipping on a wonderful drink. How about trying an “Income Tax” (gin, sweet and dry vermouth, orange and angostura bitter) or maybe a “Sushi tini” (vodka, sake, ginger, honey, lemon and shiso leaves)? After the drink you can move into the dining room and enjoy a wonderful meal. The dishes on the menu rotate from time to time, but Ljunggren is known for its Asian and European fusion cuisine, centered around dumplings and sushi. Be sure not to miss their spicy tuna rolls with chili mayo.

If you visit during the summer, Ljunggren holds a wonderful rooftop bar where you can hang until the early hours. All in all, Ljunggren is a must for your Stockholm visit. Be sure to make reservations though, this place is popular among the locals.
