If you like Vietnamese food – hell, even if you don’t like Vietnamese food – Minh Mat is one of the best restaurants in Stockholm, at least according to me. The focus is well-prepared traditional and modern dishes of Vietnamese cuisine, with an emphasis on really good street food. Minh Mat also has a rich selection of vegan dishes, and since I’m all for vegetarian and vegan food this is a huge plus for me.
Located in Vasastan, with a view of Vasaparken, Minh Mat welcomes you into their small but extremely cozy restaurant. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, and the staff is always super friendly (one time I couldn’t decide what to order so the waitress had to decide for me, which turned out great!).
What makes Minh Mat one of my favorite spots though is the food. My mouth starts watering just thinking about it! The dishes are well balanced and seasoned to perfection. I’d recommend XÔI TRĂNG RẰM (225 SEK), a vegan dish with numerous different mushrooms, white rice steamed in coconut milk, and crispy bundles with tofu. Next time I’m there, I’ll try PHỞ TRỘN VỊT, roasted duck breast with red rice noodles, with marinade of star anise, ginger and honey.
Minh Mat only have 42 seats available, so be sure to book a table in advance. And remember – they don’t accept parties of more than six people, and they’re closed on Sundays. Enjoy!
