Right by the statue of ‘George and the dragon’ there is a petit restaurant that will make you feel welcomed by some real Frenchmen who have found themselves with this hidden gem in the middle of Gamla Stan.
Just about when I was getting tired of eating Swedish ‘husmanskost’ (meatballs, herring, potatoes etc) and looking for an adventure, even in the touristy area right in the centre of Old Town, I found my luck at Pastis.
Here I really enjoyed the ambience of being in a very romantic, decadent, central European city again where the personnel communicates with each other in French and serves with a great passion for their profession.
With my latest visit, I ordered one of their best ciders, had a cold cut/charcuterie platter and enjoyed just listening to the conversations, the music and inhaled the vibe. Besides this, they have quite some authentic lunch and dinner meals available too, like Moules Frites, steak tartare, escargots and the amazing Chévre salad as a veggie option. Not to be missed, the wine list is of course selected with quality in mind as well…
